Breaking Records, Setting Benchmarks: KERACON 2024
Keracon 2024 wasnโt just another conferenceโit was a game-changer. Drawing nearly 800 attendees this year, it became a milestone event for the Cornea Society of India (#CSI), the worldโs largest cornea organization. And there were more reasons than one that made this event truly extraordinary!!
From the moment you stepped into the venue, it was clear that this event was setting a new gold standard for medical gatherings.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC), led by the visionary Dr. Himanshu Matalia, pulled off a first-of-its-kind national “silent medical conference.” Picture this: a sprawling hall alive with multiple sessions happening simultaneously, each attendee choosing their preferred discussion with seamless audio-visual technology. No noise, no chaosโjust an immersive learning experience. Beyond the conference rooms, the LOC orchestrated incredible social events, creating a perfect balance of education and connection.
With international faculty from 8 countries, Keracon 2024 is a melting pot of global expertise. Collaborative sessions with global organizations like the ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐, ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, Eye Bank Association Of India, and ๐๐๐๐๐๐ enriched the scientific agenda, making it a truly world-class event.
CSIโs signature courses elevated the learning experience to another level. With a combination of online pre-conference classes and offsite wet labs, participants gained hands-on exposure to advanced techniques, including DMEK, DSEK, SLET, DALK, MMG, and Tattooing. It was arguably the best surgical education platform for trainees to master these specialized skill sets.
Hats off to the delegates who took time out from their busy practices to attend this 2.5-day event, demonstrating an incredible commitment to upgrading their skills and knowledge. Their enthusiasm truly underscores the passion that drives our field forward.
The core Executive team of CSI, led by President Dr. Namrata Sharma, embodies a unique driveโto outsmart itself every year! This relentless pursuit of improvement ensures that every meeting surpasses the last in scale, quality, and impact. Being part of this cohesive and dynamic team as general secretary, I feel privileged to contribute to our shared mission of growing, learning, and setting new benchmarks.
