Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty

This surgery is the latest and an even more advanced form of Endothelial transplant providing an excellent visual outcome. In fact, DMEK provides 20/25 or better vision in 3 out of 4 patients, if other structures of eyeball are normal. In DMEK, surgeon uses extremely thin donor corneal tissue (just 5% of corneal thickness). In this surgery, the quality of vision is better than that after DSEK and visual rehabilitation is also faster. Additionally, the risk of rejection with DMEK is extremely low.
